Durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) is the most important fruit crop and very popular for being highly delicious and nutritious. Durian is common fruit tree being cultivated in the home gardens in the villages and also in mixed orchards. Selected durian clones or recommended durian clones by Department of Agriculture are being planted commercially in plantations or estates. Most of the clones selected, collected and registered were from the chance seedlings trees growing in the villages.
